Bull Run Mountain Conservatory, VA

Located in Manassas, Bull Run Mountain Conservatory was a pleasant surprise. Researching about this trail, I found out the trail included ruins from the Civil War era. However, to my pleasant surprise, the trail led also on to private property which had a beautiful overlook. On the other hand, the ruins were kind of a disappointment. We only saw about 4 or 5 buildings. Still cool nonetheless. Not bad for a 2 hour hike.

Amazing view from the overlook.

Ruins.

Train tracks that wrap around the trail. Still in use?

The mill building. They closed off the inside on the day we came.

They filled this "well" with ice.

The Chapman Cemetery; one of two cemetery on this trail.
